Flex is recruiting a Mechanical Engineer. The role combines mechanical design, engineering documentation, process definition, and leading DFx activities to ensure that the product is optimized for manufacturing, assembly, and testing.
Mechanical integration: design and integration of components and assemblies according to DFM and DFx principles, participation / leading development reviews (PDR / CDR), and providing engineering feedback.
Leading NPI: defining manufacturing processes, designing fixtures and tests, adapting the process to customer requirements and site capabilities, and leading the transition from development to production.
Documentation and control: managing full engineering documentation (BOM, ECO), configuration control, and opening/updating work instructions and manufacturing files in systems.
Quality: participation in quality events, leading failure investigations, defining acceptance criteria, and process controls.
Interface work: daily collaboration with quality engineers, process engineers, project managers, operations, and infrastructure engineering — both onsite and with global interfaces.
Technical support for production line: supporting manufacturing, solving design and process issues, and implementing continuous improvements on the production line and in laboratories.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Systems Engineering.
Proven experience in mechanical design and integration for mass production and assemblies.
Proven experience with CAD tools for design and preparation of manufacturing/testing data.
Practical familiarity with NPI processes.
Knowledge of DFM / DFx principles including BOM analysis and defining requirements for manufacturing and fixtures.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, excellent interpersonal communication skills, and ability to manage multiple interfaces.
Good technical English (spoken and written).
